The Kenya Kwanza running mate appears to have been found guilty of what he described as state capture. According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) Gacagua used his connections in to award himself contracts through multiple shell companies and pocketed the cash without supplying the goods or services and sometimes supplying sub-par equipment that broke down almost immediately.

The UDA Nairobi County gubernatorial candidate is facing accusations of presenting IEBC with fake academic credentials. He has not shown the public his academic transcripts, graduation photos or receipts showing he paid tuition to Team University where he claims to have earned his management degree. To explain his woes, Sakaja has lashed out at President Uhuru Kenyatta. The Kenyan High Court has granted Sakaja some breathing space, ordering a stay in the case and promising to make a decision on June 22.
