The Africana Voice is committed to fair, accurate, and independent journalism that serves the African diaspora community. These standards guide how we report, write, and publish every story.
Accuracy
We verify facts before publishing. When errors occur, we correct them promptly and transparently. We note corrections clearly on the affected article rather than silently editing them out.
Independence
The Africana Voice is reader-supported. We do not accept payment in exchange for favorable coverage, and our editorial decisions are made independently of advertisers, donors, or subscribers.
Fairness
We seek out multiple perspectives on contested issues and give subjects of critical coverage a fair opportunity to respond before publication.
Sourcing
We identify sources whenever possible. When a source requests anonymity, we grant it only when the information is credible, the story cannot be reported another way, and we explain to readers why anonymity was granted.
Use of AI
We use AI tools to assist with research and editing. All content is reviewed and verified by our team to the best of our ability before publication. If we miss something and you notice an error, please let us know so we can correct it.
Corrections Policy
If you believe a story contains an error, contact us at theafricanavoice@gmail.com. We review every correction request and promptly update published articles when we confirm a factual error.

Our reporting centers the experiences, culture, and concerns of the African diaspora. We aim to tell in-depth stories that are too often overlooked by mainstream outlets, with the same rigor and standards applied to any other news organization.
